Thomas Howard Foundation, launched September of 2009, works to build partnerships and programs to enhance student’s academic and athletic goals. The Foundation benefits youth ages 9 to 13 who seek to excel in both education and organized sports activities. The signature scholoarships and programs of the Thomas Howard Foundation include: The Annual Walk-On Scholarship (in development); YFL Football Uniforms Scholarship Fund; Are You Smarter than a 4th Grader program for school curriculum enhancement. The Thomas Howard Foundation also has a strong partnership with the After-School All-Stars – with Governor Schwarzenegger as chairman - providing programs that include academic support, enrichment opportunities, and health/fitness activities.

Mr. Howard's journey to the NFL was very unique. He was not given a full ride to college, instead he was a recruited walk on. Through hard work and determination he went on to obtain a full scholarship after his first season. However, this was a tough journey filled with many obstacles.
This journey is one that Thomas never wants to forget. His passion is to provide other walk on student athletes with financial assistance, so that they can focus on school and athletics. YFL Football Uniforms Fund
Each year the foundation will sponsor uniforms for a Youth Football Organization. Thomas knows how it feels for football players to put on new uniforms and feel proud about the sport they’re playing. Because of these trying economic times, the Thomas Howard Foundation wants to give an opportunity to deserving youth
Are you smarter than a fourth grader was designed to support curriculum reinforcement through fun activities. Thomas Howard along with two NFL team mates team up in a game show-style format to compete against 4th graders throughout the city of Oakland.
Through this program, the Thomas Howard Foundation supports the reinforcement of the school curriculum that students need to know for the California Standardized Skills Test. Students retain information through play and each class receives school supplies.
After-School All-Stars Partnership
Since 1992 After-School All-Stars has been dedicated to raising funds to provide at-risk youth with enriching after-school programs. During this NFL season and seasons to come, Thomas Howard will work with the Bay Area All Stars to expand programming and visibility through the Thomas Howard Foundation.
Founded by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, After-School All-Stars is one of the largest national organizations that provides comprehensive programming to middle school children in thirteen cities across the country. Through donated funds ASAS has had the opportunity to offer engaging activities to over 72,000 kids annually. The programs are designed to improve the participants’ lives by nurturing their minds, bodies, and spirits through incorporating academic support, enrichment, and health and physical fitness.

Our initial focus is High School Programs Nationwide, and our future Marketing focus will include: All Athletic Programs, Academic Programs, and Band, Music and any other related Programs that need funds to keep their programs alive and a success.
